(2012) Moon Over Soho is the second novel in the Peter Grant series by English author Ben Aaronovitch. This is not the first attempt to adapt the series: in 2019 it was announced that Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s Stolen Picture was going to produce a TV version. His contribution is the cover of The Ray Bradbury Chronicles Vol. SIGNED by WILLIAM STOUT & DATED: 2003, one of many Illustrators represented here. Just google Ray's name, title, publisher, and identifying edition number and you should find the cover pic no problem. Without an ISBN it's difficult to know which edition this is, so this is my best attempt to describe the book: white wraps, black font, and an red-orange-purple themed illo of a rocket, with aplenetoid to its lower left, and a circular spaceship (?) in the distant sky behind it. Lastly, there is a spidery-thin line to the spine that indicates that the book was opened somewhat aggressively once it was aged and no longer supple. When this humdinger arrives at your door, you'll feel as though you've gotten drunk on dandelion wine and you're burning a wicked midnight fever of 451 after receiving an illustrated missive from Mars.all on October 31st! NOTE: Age-toning, light evidence of handling wear with a couple of distinct stains to the sides of the pages. This book is square, solid, and unread, and in a protective archival bag. Later printing, SIGNED by the author on the title page. It's about teaching kids to sit down, shut up, and do their homework. Calvin's school isn't about nurturing creativity or teaching children to use their gifts. It makes sense now, and I even understand why I didn't see it, before. Most interesting is that I never understood how a bright kid like Calvin could do so poorly in school. I finally see the humor in Calvin's declaration that this is the coolest thing to happen to him. And the section about the break-in at their home, instead of inspiring boredom, seems very apt, and I can sympathize with the parents. Calvin's antics aren't laugh-out-loud funny anymore, but bittersweet now that I can imagine raising such a holy terror. I had one perspective on them when I was young, and another now that I'm all grown up, myself. These are definitely written to be appreciated on several levels, which is what makes them so rereadable. I could read these a million times and still want to read them again. I read these when they were originally syndicated in my hometown newspaper, and I read Scientific Progress Goes "Boink" and The Revenge of the Baby-Sat. I just happened to pick this book up while visiting a friend, and, the next thing I knew, it was hours later. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders.
